Here’s How To Instantly Get Google Maps Back On Your iPhone (AAPL, GOOG)

A lot of people are unhappy that Apple removed Google Maps from the newest iPhone software update, iOS 6. We’re not going to lie, we are too. Google has been quiet about its plans for releasing a stand alone version. Until we hear something, try out this temporary solution. Add the mobile web version of Google maps to your home screen!

YES!!! This was my only drawback from getting the new iPhone. Google Maps are second to none.  Not having them on the iPhone is a real pain.  I mean have you ever used Apple maps?  No because it’s horrible.  I’ve litterally seen people on the street in New York City with a iPhone ask a stranger if they can use their Google maps to find where they’re going. It’s because people stick to what just works for them and this is no exception.  Apple just thinks they can do it better.  They want to create this monopoly that most people are just obliviously to. For me at least I can’t live without Google unless you strand me on some tropical island like Tom Hanks where my new best friend will be a Wilsonfootball.

Apple: iPhone 5 generates 2 million pre-orders in 24 hours

Apple: iPhone 5 generates 2 million pre-orders in 24 hours

Apple’s Phil Schiller has announced that Apple’s iPhone 5 generated 2 million pre-orders within the first 24 hours of availability, according to The Loop. “iPhone 5 pre-orders have shattered the previous record held by iPhone 4S and the customer response to iPhone 5 has been phenomenal,” Schiller said.

I have to say I’ve been an Apple hater for almost as long as I can remember but this year I thought let’s give it a try and I pre-order the iPhone 5.  This being my first Apple product ever I’m a little hesitant on how well I will be able to use the device.  I will definitely have to write a product review on my other blog bhattibytes.blogspot.com. Looks like from the post above that this may be the best of the best iPhone to hit the market.  I guess I’m just happy I never bought into the first few generations so they had time fix all the issues.  Wish they didn’t lose their contract with Google as their maps are just the best.  Will have to see what Apple has in store for us.

Actually only reason I pre-ordered is because iPhone is on Sprints network  so I wouldn’t have it any other way.

Sony PlayStation 3 (2012) up close and personal (eyes-on)

Sony PlayStation 3 (2012) up close and personal (eyes-on)

Just after their pre-TGS announcement, we were able to snag a closer look at Sony‘s new slimmed-down PlayStation 3 consoles. While we weren’t able to put our grubby mitts on the pair, we did get a peek at some of the exterior differences.

Wow this new/old console looks great!  I’ve been thinking about getting another PS3 to have the ultimate at home gaming experience.   I’d have one in the living room and one in my spare bedroom so if I have friends we can have a full splitscreen Zombies game off.

The white one looks sooo sexy and 500GB what hell am I going to do with all that space.  Hmmm I guess I can have a second computer with all my music and videos I have stored on the ol’ laptop.  Love that they’ll have bundles but where is the Black Ops 2 bundle?? I’d be so inclined if they did to purchase one for a friend to get our zombie killing on.

I’ll have to work extra hard so I can make enough to buy/build the ultimate gaming experience.

Walmart: Wins with Great Customer Service

This is a selfmade image from the english wiki...

It’s not everyday you have an lasting experience with a brand like well, Walmart.  Today I wanted to pre-order my favorite game of all time, Call of Duty: Black Ops II.  I had some trouble trying to get in on BestBuy, damn phone rep kept hanging up on me.  Can’t being to tell you how frustrating that was.   But after a bit of Tweeting I was immediately contacted by a Walmart rep that was extremely nice it the way she presented me with options.  They even tried to send me a discount for just being a loyal customer.  Unfortunately I didn’t order from Walmart because of the timing I’d actually receive the game, but nonetheless I was floored by the professionalism and amiability of this particular Walmart rep.  The

Call of Duty: Black Ops billboard.

other reason is there is no Walmart store in NYC which is a bit confusing since they’d make an absolute killing here.  Maybe my post will influence them into building one here, fingers crossed.  I just wanted to share my experience in the hopes that someone like you would not waste their time with a store that doesn’t address your needs and concerns.  Having had this experience I’d be inclined to shop at Walmart if I could.  The positive experience will also be an opportunity to tell all my friends and family which in turn will help their sales.  I can’t explain how much a good experience has on any company if you get social media involved.  So thanks Steph for caring!

That’s the Power of [Link] Love

That’s the Power of [Link] Love

Recently, Zemanta wrote a blog post titled Link Love Is the Way We Roll , addressing the concept of linking out to other (similar, even competitive) sites from your own content. This post immediately struck a chord with us here at VigLink, because we feel the same way Zemanta does about “link love.” It’s a best practice.

Not for Nothing but Zemanta is truly a great service.  Not only did it find this story for me be blog about but it helps me keep up to date each and everyday via an automated curate email called blogspire  And sure maybe I’m a bit bias working for this company but in all honesty you can really only successful sell what you believe in and Zemanta is just one of those companies.  I was a Zemanta blogger well before ever joining the ranks and love it then it just now that I have the opportunity to change it for the better.  One of my ideas led the way to the creation of blogspire.  What better way to say thank you then create something everyone will enjoy.  I vote that this has to be the top 10 places to work ever anywhere.
